Annual Curling Bonspiel
The annual curling bonspiel is focused on fun. Although there is friendly competition, and some members surprise with their "hurry hard skills", experience is not necessary! First time curlers are welcome. Costumes are not mandatory but many teams choose to take the event to a new level by dressing up.
The 2018 Curling Bonspiel was held Friday, March 23, 2018. Thank you to all our curlers for making this such a fun event. Congratulations to the team from Gowling for clinching this year's championship trophy! Check out our Twitter feed for more pics from the event.
QC AND JUDGES' DINNER
The Calgary Bar Association proudly hosts formal dinners to celebrate Calgary QC and judicial appointments. These events are held on an alternating basis, with QC Dinners in even years and Judges' Dinners in odd. Each dinner presents an opportunity to come together as a legal community to celebrate the achievements of some of our colleagues. We might even have some fun at their expense along the way!
The dinners are usually sold out, so get your tickets early. QC and Judges' Dinners are open to Calgary Bar Association members only.
The 2018 Judges' Dinner was held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Westin Hotel.

CBA CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Annual CBA Charity Golf Tournament is another longstanding tradition which keeps the spirit of "collegial intercourse" alive and well in the Calgary Bar!
While the performances in the Clubhouse afterwards have, on occasion, been more memorable (or for some forgettable) than those on the Course, the one certainty of the tournament is that the true spirit of comradery of the Calgary Bar always prevails. In recent years, the CBA has returned to its "old school" roots, by holding the tournament at the prestigious and beautiful Banff Springs Golf Course. As with most CBA functions, the Charity Golf Tournament is not only a great time, but also a great way to give back to the community. Every year, funds raised by the CBA through the tournament are provided to worthwhile charities.
The Charity Golf Tournament takes place in September of each year.
This year's tournament will be Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Banff Springs Golf Club.
Price: $300 per person (tax included). Includes green fees, range balls, cart rental, dinner & prizes. If you are going to play on a team, the team must submit one cheque for $1,200. Please refer to the Tournament Poster for more details.
Registration deadline is August 24, 2018 with either of the methods below:
► Pay by cheque: 2018 Golf Tournament poster and registration form

AGM / Fall BASH
The Constitution of the Calgary Bar Association requires the members to meet annually in the month of November at such time and place as Council may select. And members have been happy to comply each November since 1916. As the years have passed, the meeting portion of the gathering has become shorter and shorter, with business now usually conducted between 4:00 and 4:02. This leaves lots of time for socializing with colleagues at the bar, catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.
The 2018 AGM will take place in early November 2018 at the National on 10th.
Admission is free for all Calgary lawyers - even if you didn't buy a Calgary Bar Association membership this year - and includes drinks, food and bowling.
