CBA CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Annual CBA Charity Golf Tournament is another longstanding tradition which keeps the spirit of "collegial intercourse" alive and well in the Calgary Bar!

While the performances in the Clubhouse afterwards have, on occasion, been more memorable (or for some forgettable) than those on the Course, the one certainty of the tournament is that the true spirit of camaraderie of the Calgary Bar always prevails.

In recent years, the CBA has returned to its "old school" roots, by holding the tournament at the prestigious and beautiful Banff Springs Golf Course.

As with most CBA functions, the Charity Golf Tournament is not only a great time, but also a great way to give back to the community. Every year, funds raised by the CBA through the tournament are provided to worthwhile charities.

Is there a preferred group arrangement for booking a hotel room in Banff?

  • Due to the high demand for hotel rooms in Banff this year, we are unable to book a group block for this event. Guests are welcome to make their own arrangements for accommodation in Banff at their preferred hotel if they choose. We encourage ake your reservations early if you are planning to stay in Banff that evening.

What’s the difference between the “4-person Texas Scramble” option and the “Two-Ball Best Ball” option?

  • A scramble is when a team picks the best shot, and then each person plays from there. Best ball is when each team member plays their own ball for the entire hole, and the best score is used.

PREVIOUS GOLF TOURNAMENTS

  • 2022 Event - We would like to thank the 143 guests who spent a beautiful Friday afternoon with us at the Banff Springs Golf Course on September 9, 2022. The weather was cooperative and the tournament went very well. In addition to having a lot of fun on the greens, together we raised $11,850 for Student Legal Assistance.   • 2021 Event - This was our best attended tourney ever and we managed to raise $11, 355 for the Alberta Lawyers Assistance Society. Check out our blog post with info from the 2021 Event Results and Raffle Winners.

  • 2020 Event — We spent a beautiful day at the Banff Springs Golf Course with 100 members taking part in the tourney, raising $11,755 for the Calgary Drug Treatment Court. See our blog post for details and photos from this event.

  • 2019 Event - Another successful event was held in Banff, raising $10,640 in support of the Calgary Child Advocacy Centre.
